Generally speaking, the prognosis of purpura nephritis is good and children has better prognosis than the adults. Therefore it is necessary to know some prevention measures so as to lower its occurring and reduce renal damages.

The following are several aspects that patients need to pay attention to regarding preventions and nursing cares:

1. Proper diets. The daily diets should be nutritious and easy to digest. In case of blood in urine, patients should avoid spicy and excitant foods such as rooster, sea fish, mutton, goose, etc. In case of proteinurina, high-protein foods should be avoided. Fresh vegetables and fruits are beneficial for purpura nephritis. Alcohol and tobacco should also be avoided.

2. Keep warm and stay far away from colds and infections.

3. Have regular and proper physical exercises to build up physical strength and improve disease-resistance ability.

4. During the period of morbidity, patients should stop working, avoid over-tiredness and have adequate bed rest.

1. Some patients especially some light cases can often be eased without treatments.

2. Check if there is any food or contact with foreign substances that caused the allergy and try to avoid them in the future.

3. Different treatment options will be offered according to the patients’ age, clinical manifestations and severity of renal damages.

4. For those that have severe clinical symptoms, the combination of hormones and immunosuppressant should be adopted to bring the illness under control.

5. For those that have taken hormones, the dosage and frequency should be under the doctor’s guidance and should not be stopped without the doctor’s permission.
