Why is Nephritis difficult to treat? Just as its name implies, Nephritis means there is inflammation in kidney which can be caused by many conditions. Nephritis is difficult to treat and with it, patients are at high risk to develop kidney failure. However, why is nephritis difficult to treat?

Right treatment method for Nephritis

Nephritis progresses as more and more kidney tissues are damaged by inflammation which occurs because immune complexes in kidney. Therefore, the right treatment method for Nephritis should be stop new immune complexes from depositing in kidney and meanwhile remove existent immune complexes away from kidney.

Immune complex is the combination of antigen (harmful substances) and antibody which are produced by our body to fight against antigen. In normal cases, there is no immune complexes in our kidneys, however, when immune system is abnormal or immunity is low, antigen invade our body and combine with antibody. These immune complexes circulate with blood and when they deposit in kidney, inflammation is caused and kidney damages are formed. Therefore, to stop the formation of new immune complexes, Nephritis patients also need to adjust their immune system and increase their immunity.

Why is Nephritis difficult to treat?

Nephritis is difficult to treatment in past. In cases of Nephritis, inflammation can be blocked easily with immunosuppressive agents. However, as there is no such a treatment that can help to remove immune complexes away from the kidney in past, inflammation can not be avoided fundamentally. When patients stop taking or reduce the dose of immunosuppressive agents, inflammation occurs again and Nephritis relapses.

In recent years, different medicines have been applied to try to remove immune complexes in the kidney and some Chinese medicines show special treatment effects. These medicines have function to promote blood circulation, adjust immune system, extend blood vessels, fight against inflammation, fight against coagulation and degrade extracellular matrix. Under the effects of these medicines, immune complexes in the blood can be removed little by little. Besides, these medicines help to adjust immune system, which will help to improve patients’ immunity and thus prevent the formation of new immune complexes. As long as there is no immune complexes in kidney, inflammation is prevented effectively and kidney damages are avoided.

Lastly, Nephritis is a difficult to treat and can not be cured, but with right treatment method and medicines, it can be stopped from developing to kidney failure. Therefore, Nephritis patients should be optimistic toward their future.
