What is urea nitrogen?
Urea nitrogen is one of the primary components of urine. It can be defined as an excess of amino acid and protein metabolism end products, such as urea and creatinine, in the blood that would be normally excreted in the urine. It is the signs, symptoms and results from laboratory tests which result from inadequate excretory, regulatory and endocrine function of the kidneys. For people with kidney failure, high urea levels in the blood indicate poor kidney function as one of the kidney’s functions is to remove urea from the blood.
How to treat high blood urea nitrogen level?
1. Diet
Low protein diet
Limit the intake of protein and consume some high quality protein intake. Strictly limit the intake of foods with high plant protein such as beans, bean products and nuts.
Consume enough carbohydrate and fats
You must supplement enough calories along with low protein intake. Eat more foods with vitamin B1 and vitamin C.
Drink more water and eat less sodium
Drink more water to make urine output increase to 2500ml, which expels wastes produced by the body on that day. However, if you have swelling, you should limit water intake. Limit salt intake properly according to your own specific medical conditions.
2. Herbal medicine
