Q:
I recently suffered from chest tightness, chest pain and shortness of breath and it was diagnosed as pleural effusion and my doctor told me it was caused by nephrotic syndrome since I have nephrotic syndrome. And I want to know why nephrotic syndrome will lead to pleural effusion and are there any proper exercises that I can do.
A:
The typical symptoms of nephrotic syndrome are three highs and one low---massive proteinuria, hyperlipidemia, edema and hypoalbuminemia. Edema is often the first symptom. Hypoalbuminemia will cause decrease of plasma osmotic pressure; as a result water will flow from the blood vessels to the tissues and cause edema. In serious conditions, pleural effusion will occur.
