My kidney disease has kept in stage 2 for 8 years, but the last blood test shows my blood urea nitrogen is 42 mg/dl and serum creatinine level is 4.2 mg/dl. Then, my doctor tells me that my illness has progressed to stage 3 kidney disease. What should I do?

In stage 3 kidney disease, patients’ kidney function ranges between 30 and 59. In this condition, kidneys can’t filter out waste products including blood urea nitrogen and creatinine adequately. This is why your BUN and creatinine rises to so high level. If left uncontrolled, these waste products will attack other organs and cause further kidney damage via blood circulation.
