1. Healthy diet
Low but high quality protein intake
Due to the decline of glomerular filtration rate (GFR), you will suffer from azotemia so protein should be high quality such as milk, eggs, lean meat and fish.
Low sodium
Patients with swelling and high blood pressure should follow a low sodium diet. Therefore, they should avoid foods with high sodium such as pickles, bacon and preserved duck egg.
Avoid high potassium foods
When IgA Nephropathy patients suffer from oliguria, anuria and low blood potassium, they should avoid eating high potassium fruits and vegetables like bananas, kiwi fruits and nuts.
