IgA Nephropathy Stage 1

IgA Nephropathy is diagnosed with the help of renal biopsy in clinic and for patients with stage 1 of IgA Nephropathy, renal biopsy shows most of the glomeruli are normal and occasionally there is mild broadening of mesangial area with or without cell proliferation. Usually, no damages show in renal tubule in this stage.

IgA Nephropathy Stage 2

In stage 2 IgA Nephropathy, about a half of glomerular mesangial area show proliferation and necrosis. Small crescents begin to appear and renal tubule still keeps being normal.

IgA Nephropathy stage 3

IgA Nephropathy stage 3 is marked by diffuse broadening and proliferation of mesangial area. Small crescents and capsular adhesion can be found occasionally. Also, in stage 3, swollen renal tubule and interstitial infiltration occur, but atrophied renal tubule is rare.

IgA Nephropathy stage 4
