High creatinine and high uric acid are typical symptoms among kidney disease patients. Also some people may develop high creatinine or high uric acid due to improper diets. Whatever the case is, proper diets can help lower high creatinine and high uric acid or at least prevent further increase. What is more, lowering high creatinine and high uric acid through diets is natural and safe.
Limit protein
Both high creatinine and high uric acid need to limit protein intake. Eat less meat products which can produce less metabolic wastes and relieve burdens to the kidneys.
One source of creatinine is the meat we eat, therefore avoid eating too much meat is good for controlling high creatinine.
Avoid animal offals
Animal offals, crabs, broth are all high-purine foods and will further increase uric acid, therefore if you have high uric acid, these foods should be avoided.
Animal offals often have a lot of metabolic wastes even when they are cooked, therefore it is better that kidney disease patients should avoid them.
More alkaline foods
Alkaline foods are good for both high creatinine and high uric acid. Most vegetables and fruits are alkaline.
Drink more water
If patients do not have swelling, more water intake can help the kidneys wash more creatinine and uric acid as well as many other wastes and toxins from the blood.
Besides, avoid beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. Alcohol can inhibit the excretion of uric acid. Even if you just drink small amount of alcohol, long term drinking can stimulate synthesis of more purine and uric acid.
Limit fat
Do not eat that much fat because too much fat can reduce excretion of uric acid.
Limit salt
Low-salt diets can help protect the kidneys and slow down illness progression. Daily salt intake should be limited within 2-5g. Pickled foods and spicy foods should be avoided.
