Patient A: Kidney disease causes so many changes in your life that yes you can get depressed. I have been on anti-depressants but do not like how they make me feel so weaned myself off them.
Patient B: I am on medications for depression but I do not like the way they make me feel either but am afraid to stop taking them. Since I started to take them, my depression has not been so bad. You have to keep a positive outlook and try and enjoy your life as best you can. Do not get me wrong I still get anxious and have worse days but I try my best to talk myself out of it.
Any chronic health problems can trigger depression. It is very important to talk with your doctor if you even suspect depression. Above all, you can lessen your depression by repairing injured kidney tissues and improving renal function. Only in this way can complications including depression of kidney disease be relieved from the root.
